Rafting Adventures Ages 13-16

This one-week adventure is the CRS experience taken to another level. These teens seek excitement on a weeklong expedition to the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains! Participants pitch their own camp each day, explore their surrounding creation, and learn more about the creator Lord. Working together to overcome challenges, they will create lasting bonds with one another as well as learn new survival skills!

To add to the excitement and adventure of CRS, we now offer two different types of trips: Rafting (ages 13-16) and Rafting Ultimate Adventure (ages 14-16) must have previous experience rafting).

Rafting Adventure Trip

(for ages 13-15)

This for those campers seeking to deepen their camping experience and get into God’s creation. The trip is designed to introduce white-water rafting in stages. The first river that is tackled is the Nantahala River, with its mild but exciting rapids.  The next river is the Chattooga River, Section III. This river is a little more challenging and offers breathtaking scenery to guarantee a memorable wilderness experience. This stunning waterway has abundant wildlife, including herons and nesting Canada geese. It's rapids are Class II and III, right up until the ending at Bull Sluice, an exciting Class IV drop. This full-day trip allows for lots of swimming and splashing through Section III's pools and jump-off rocks. The final river that the CRS rafters tackle is the Ocoee River, used in the 1996 Olympics. The Ocoee features splashy waves and continuous action. Our now-experienced rafters are ready to tackle this Tennessee river’s fast-moving waters! After rafting the rivers, our rafters will have the opportunity to rappel down the side of Lookout Mountain before heading back to base camp at CRS.

Ultimate Adventure Trip

(for ages 13-15)

Gives experienced rafters the ability to take their adventure to a new level with even more excitement! This trip is guaranteed to be filled with adventure, fun, and God's creation. Our rafting ultimate adventurers will travel to the Great Smoky Mountains to test their skills on the Nantahala River in duckies (individual rafts), then on to raft the Chattooga River featuring heart-pounding drop-pool rapids and famous Class IV+ rapids. After a night’s rest, we’ll spend the day rock climbing on a true rock face in Georgia. We'll finish out by getting muddy in a wild-cave expedition at Raccoon Mountain and then head back to CRS.

CRS uses Nantahala Outdoor Center for guides and equipment on all raft trips. For trip rates and dates click here.
