Carrie Browning, Director |
Carrie is looking forward to her second year as the Director of CRS's summer camp. She has spent 17 summers at Camp of the Rising Son--5 as a camper and 12 on staff beginning as an assistant counselor in 1994 and serving in many other capacities such as program director, activities director, and assistant director. Carrie is passionate about the opportunity camping provides to open kids up to God's love, the outdoors, creative experiences, and FUN! Her wonderful husband, Greg, and three daughters are eager to be a integral part of our camp ministry. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Carrie has a Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University. Terry Roberts, Outdoor Specialties Director |
Terry Roberts, has been employed as a high school science teacher by French Camp Academy since 1979. A member of the original staff, "Father Nature" has spent all but 6 summers at CRS since its beginnings in 1980. Terry holds both a Bachelor of Science in Science Education and a Masters of Education from Mississippi State University. The proud father of 2 "unchiefs" (camp kids) who went on to become chiefs themselves, Terry now looks forward to the day his 3 granddaughters and grandson will attend camp. He believes the opportunity for Outdoor Adventure at CRS is one of its greatest ministry assests.

CRS is very excited to have Sarah as our talented and energetic Registrar. She has been around camp her whole life, coming as a camper for nine years and now on staff for her seventh. Sarah is a graduate of Mississippi State with a Bachelor's degree in Horticulture and a minor in General Business. Along with being our registrar, Sarah is a part time chemistry teacher at Grace Christian School. She looks forward to when her 2 children are old enough to attend camp. |

Summer is a 2009 graduate of the Camp Apprentice Ministry Program with Miracle Mountain Ranch. After working last summer as an administrative assistant for summer camp, she has joined our year-round team serving as the conference coordinator. |

Emarie Irvine, Maiden Unit Director |
Emarie is a native of Memphis TN. She is currently a graduate student at Middle Tennessee State University. Emarie was formerly a camper at Camp of the Rising Son for 6 years. This will be her 3rd summer on staff. She loves traveling to Europe, speaking spanish, and doing anything outdoors. |

Jim, a graduate of French Camp Academy, is here for his fourth summer at CRS. He is a Junior at Belhaven College with a major in Sports Administration. Jim is a RA at Belhaven and plays for the tennis team there. |

Hannah Parish, Program Director |
Hannah has been coming to CRS for a number of years. She attended here as a camper for four years and this will be her 6th summer on staff. Hannah's future plans are to open up a children's bookstore and write. She says she must have coffee to live, she loves books, and she has three brothers and sisters. |

 Josh comes to us from the Miracle Mountain Ranch apprenticeship program. This will be his first summer at CRS. Josh enjoys wood work, music, and basketball. His favorite Bible verse is Roman 8:38, because it reminds him that NOTHING can separate us from God's love. |

Samuel Brewer is a graduate of the Camp Apprentice Ministry Program. This is his second year at CRS. Sam enjoys basketball, soccer, and all sports in general. His favorite Bible verse is Timothy 2:13.

This summer Aimee is brining her enthusiasm to our Maiden rafting and Leadership Training programs. She is a senior at Mississippi State University with a major in Operation Meteorology. She plays both the guitar and the trumpet, both of which you find her playing while she is here! This is her third summer at CRS. |

We are excited to have Anne Clair back for her 8th summer to serve on the CRS team. She has a bachelor of science in education from Delta State University and a masters in curriculum and instruction from Ole Miss. Anne Clair enjoys painting, playing paintball, and music. She would like to someday run a refuge home for abandoned street children. |

This is Nurse Marie's 5th summer with us at CRS. When she is not helping campers to feel better, Nurse Marie enjoys scrapbooking, reading, serving, and singing. She is also involved in Kairo's Outside Prison Ministry. Her favorite Bible verse is Philipians 4:13. |

Katy is a sophomore in college. This will be her first summer at CRS. She enjoys sewing, swimming, painting, running, and reading. Katy's favaorite Bible verse is Proverbs 17:22. |

Red is back for his fourth year on staff and can often be found hanging around on our Ropes Course. He will be attending graduate school at the University of Southern Mississippi. Red enjoys rock climbing, kayaking, camping, and sudoku. |

Allison attends Mississippi College with plans to become a high school english teacher. She was a camper for 2 years and this will be her first year on staff. Allison's favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:12-13. |

Luke is a senior at Belhaven University. This is his first summer at CRS. Luke is the coordinator of student ministries and a resident assistant at Belhaven. He plans on attending seminary after graduating. His favorite verse is 1 Corinthians 5:21. |

Andrew is serving his first summer at CRS. He is a sophomore at Belhaven University, and has plans on going to dental school. Photopgraphy, computers, free climbing, and camping are some of his interests. Andrew's favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 43:1-4. |

Becca iis looking forward to her first summer at CRS serving on the horse crew. She plays in an orchestra and in the future would like to run her own horse program. Becca is from Georgia and is a junior at Dalton State College. |

Hilary is serving her second summer as a counselor. She is a sophomore at Belmont University. Hilary's future plans are to become a humanitarian aid with USAID. She enjoys singing, painting, poetry, reading, baking, pottery, and traveling. |

Robin is no stranger to CRS! After 9 years of being a camper, he is excited to be serving his first summer as a wrangler. His future plans include: joining the airforce, becoming a zoologist, and writing books. Robin's favorite Bible verse is Romans 9:37-39, it demonstrates God's love and devotion to us in a beautiful way. |

Lindsey is a recent graduate from Tupelo High School. After 6 years of being a camper, this will be her first year on staff at CRS. Lindsey plans to attend Mississippi College with a major in Biology. She enjoys reading, knitting, crocheting, beading, horseback riding, and ballet. |

After 3 years of being a camper and 1 year in our Leadership Training Program, we are excited to have Joy serving as a fisrt year counselor this summer. She is a recent graduate of Austin Hiigh School in Alabama. In the fall, Joy plans on attending either Mississippi College or Samford. She wants to become a nurse and use her skills to travel the world on medical mission trips. |

Avery is a junior at Auburn University. She plans on becoming an elementary school teacher. Although this is Avery's first year as a counselor, she spent 8 summers here as a camper. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11 because it gives her peace. |

Daniel is from Vicksburg, MS. He is a junior at Vicksburg High School. Daniel has attended camp 5 years as a camper, 2 years as a rafter, and 1 year in the Leadership Training Progarm. This will be Daniel's first year as part of the CRS Team. His favorite Bible verses are Psalms 23 because it assures us that Christ is always with us and will never leave us. |

We are happy to have Kayton back at CRS as a counselor. Kayton has grown up with CRS, being raised on the French Camp Academy campus. She has been a camper for seven years and is very excited to be on staff for a second year. She is a recent graduate of French Camp Academy, and plans on attending Mississippi College in the fall. |

Blair is at CRS for her third summer as staff after being a camper for three previous years. She is a Senior in high school with plans of going to Auburn University upon graduation. Blair enjoys show choir, singing, and dancing. |

He grew up coming to CRS, attending a total of 8 summers as a camper and now working here for his third summer. He attends Belhaven College with a major in Psychology. While there he also runs cross country. Sonny enjoys reading, climbing, writing, and caving. |

This is Ethan's second summer at CRS. He is a sophomore at Mississippi College. He says, "I thirst to see kids excited about Christ. I like to see them sing silly songs and play games and have fun. I also love to participate." |

Rebekah has completed two years as a student in the Camp Apprentice Ministry Program with Miracle Mountain Ranch. She plans on continuing her education in order to get a Fine Arts Masters degree. Her passion is mentoring young girls. |

Susanna grew up at French Camp Academy, and has attended CRS for many years. She graduated from Belhaven University with a major in art and spent the last year volunteering at an orphanage in Trujillo, Peru. Now she has returned to CRS to work her sixth summer here helping out in various areas. One of her favorite Bible verses is Revelation 21:1. |
